The Edge of Eternity
The blog description is inspired by the ‘dusty death’ speech from Macbeth
To-morrow, and to-morrow, and to-morrow,
Creeps in this petty pace from day to day,
To the last syllable of recorded time;
And all our yesterdays have lighted fools
The way to dusty death. Out, out, brief candle!
Life’s but a walking shadow, a poor player,
That struts and frets his hour upon the stage,
And then is heard no more. It is a tale
Told by an idiot, full of sound and fury,
Macbeth Act 5, scene 5, 19–28
I realise that my life is lived on the edge of a precipice that I might tumble into at any time, and at that point, my next conscious moment will be in front of my creator who will not be asking ‘did you get a good tan?’
Life has to mean something, we have to make something of it to honour the one in who’s image we are made.
That’s what this is for, that’s why I tweet/facebook etc. To spread the gospel – the Good News of the Kingdom of God and to encourage Christ’s other followers to stay faithful and live lives that display the gospel and are worthy of the God who has made us in his likeness.
